ODEON Raumakustik-Software Typ 7835, Typ 7836, Typ 7836
Odeon software simulates the acoustics of building interiors and semi-open spaces using a combination of image-source and ray-tracing techniques. The acoustics are predicted from the room’s geometry and surface properties. Sound reinforcement is easily integrated in these models.
Results are presented numerically and with graphs. Animation tools visualise the interaction between sound and room surfaces. Different source-receiver scenarios can be simulated, investigated and listened to.
Uses
- Acoustic simulation of auditoria, amphitheatres, music studios, office spaces, airports, railway stations, stadia, concert venues, factories, etc.
- Prediction and optimisation of room acoustics for planning or refurbishment
- Prediction and reduction of noise exposure
- Aural imitation of acoustic environments
- Room acoustics research and education
Features
- Geometry import from all major CAD programs through DXF and 3DS files; from Google SketchupTM with dedicated plug-in
- Accurate source modelling with point, line and surface sources
- Single-point receivers and receiver areas/grids
- Diffraction, transmission and scattering phenomena modelling
- Comprehensive collection of material data and anechoic recordings included
- Reflectograms, 3D reflection paths, 3D maps, and various graphs for visualisation of results
- Direct comparison of simulation results with DIRAC Type 7841 measurements
Ensure your customers’ budgets, and avoid complaints
ODEON’s room acoustics predictions let you achieve the optimal acoustic design before the first brick is laid, ensuring a smoother and more cost-efficient construction process. Your customers can experience the sound at an early stage, making decisions easier and with more confidence.
Examples: Auralisation examples demonstrate how absorbing panels improve intelligibility of announcements over the PA-system at a metro station in Dubai (with kind permission from Atkins Global). More details of the project can be found on ODEON's web site

Perform the fastest calculations
ODEON provides the fastest calculation available with multi-core support, smart prediction algorithms and a highly optimised raytracing method. This gives you more time for evaluation, presentation and design improvements. |

The optimal model with a single click
When importing geometry from CAD programs, ODEON processes data to optimise geometry for room acoustics simulations. All you need to do is click the “Import” button. |
Highly adaptable
Customising and extending the material library, adding further source directivities, loudspeakers and loudspeaker arrays is easy: Shape ODEON to your needs. |
Tailor room acoustic parameters to your requirements
Using the Parameter List, you can quickly define which of the many ODEON supported room acoustic parameters should be calculated and displayed for a certain project and which you would like to omit. Preferences can be saved in templates for easy reuse in similar projects and you can now even define your own parameters. |
Rich, detailed reports made easy
ODEON provides results in numbers, tables and graphs that can be easily exported to your report and documentation. In addition, you can generate colour maps, to indicate reflector coverage or the variation of noise level, clarity etc over a particular area. The interaction of sound with the room can also be illustrated with animations, as an example to convey the importance of specific reflectors and diffusers. |

Sound says more than words and parameters
Auralisation is the most intuitive way to convey the room acoustics as it will be after construction. ODEON even makes it possible to build an orchestra with each instrument in the exact spatial position, resulting in an unrivalled and authentic simulation experience.
