Classical Shock Vibration Control

Classical shock testing on a shaker provides better accuracy and repeatability than drop test methods. Special algorithms maximise the use of the full shaker stroke.

Uses

  • Shock testing to meet military standards and other standards
  • Shock Response Spectrum (SRS) computation
  • Shaker test replacement for drop testing

Features

  • Sampling rates up to 102.4k samples per second to accurately measure the waveform peak
  • Linear filter design minimises distortion and preserves the true waveform shape
  • Low pass filter with user-specified cut-off frequency
  • Convenient pulse selection from a waveform library of half-sine, haversine, initial and terminal peak sawtooth, triangle, rectangle and trapezoid pulses
  • Pulse compensation including displacement optimisation
  • COLA output pulse to synchronise external equipment

Definition of a profile waveform simply requires the selection of a pulse from a standard library of classical waveforms. Then the user enters the peak acceleration amplitude for the pulse and the duration of the pulse. As pulse parameters change, the setup dialog automatically updates the profile display. The software automatically calculates the peak values for velocity and displacement and displays the shaker limits. If the profile’s demands exceed any of the shaker’s limits then the software warns the user.

Classical shock tests, such as this Mil-Std sawtooth pulse, are easy to setup and run.
