Brüel & Kjaer Environmental Policy
1. Scope
Brüel & Kjaer recognises the principle of sustainable development, and has consequently established an Environmental Management System with the purpose of
- managing all significant environmental aspects of activities, products and services, and thereby controlling the environmental impact from our activities and preventing pollution
- continually improving the overall environmental performance and encouraging suppliers to do the same
In this way B&K commits to environmental responsibility in order to meet all legal requirements as well as the requirements of our customers.
2. Core elements
Brüel & Kjær will meet the environmental objectives using the following strategies:
- invest in the development of new products and applications to enable our customers to meet or exceed their environmental aspirations;
- when possible choose/change to components, materials or substances, that are environmentally less harmful;
- comply with relevant environmental laws and strive for best practice in all of our activities;
- manage our resources to minimise raw material usage, dispose correctly of waste, reduce harmful emissions, and promote energy conservation and recycling;
- establish and maintain procedures for identifying and minimising any significant environmental impact in connection with our activities;
- raise environmental awareness amongst our employees to enable them to carry out their work with due consideration for the environment;
- work with our suppliers and business partners to provide confidence that their environmental impacts are managed to standards acceptable to Brüel & Kjær;
- yearly review by top management of our environmental performance and improvements based on monitoring and measurements; and
- communicate on a regular basis to employees at all levels and other interested parties on relevant issues concerning our environmental policy, performance and emergency measures.
